Oracle 8.1.7 I hangs while runInstaller in Redhat 7.2 [message #98658]

Hi all,

I am trying to install Oracle 8.1.7 on Redhat Linux 6.2 . I set all the PATH settings and DISPLAY host to locahost:0.0 .

When I run the oraInstaller from the CD , It just displays the messgae JAva loading (jre 1.1.8 .....) and stands there only.

Is there anything I have to do before start oraInstaller?

Of course. You have to run some command in your
shell. It's "unset LANG". It works for me although I
feel that it's quite stupid thing.
