hi,

I installed Oracle 8i on Linux. If i am login as Linux-Oracle user and starting DB, i am not able to connect the DB from other users(shiva, root, etc..). If i am login as other User(shiva) and starting the DB, i am not able to connect the DB from Linux-Oracle User. Please Help me.

You will have to connect with sys using the "as sysdba" option to be able to connect to the database.
