Async I/O library for Mandrivia LE 2005 [message #126981]

Hi,

I'm unable to install Oracle 10g Release 2 on my Mandrivia LE 2005 system (10g Release 1 is working fine without any problems). Here is the error:

$ sqlplus 
SQL*Plus: Release 10.2.0.1.0 - Production on Thu Jul 7 07:07:12 2005 
Copyright (c) 1982, 2005, Oracle. All rights reserved. 
Enter user-name: / as sysdba 
oracleo10gr2: error while loading shared libraries: libaio.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory 
ERROR: ORA-12547: TNS:lost contact

Not sure why the libaio.so.1 library is not available on my system. I've tried to locate a package that will install it, but were unable to find any.

Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Problem solved.

The solution was to remove the line "PL_ORALIBS=-laio" from the $OH/rdbms/lib/env_rdbms.mk file and to relink oracle.
