i am using oracle 8i 1.7 enterprise server on windows
2000 server.

can i connect(insert or update some tables) from red hat linux9 to oracle 8i 1.7
without install oracle client on red hat linux9.
pls help

Hi,

One possible solution would be to write a service or something on your Windows system and call it from Linux. However, without SQL*Net (part of the Oracle Client), it won't be easy.
